Best Camo Patterns for Cerakote in 2023

#5 - Topo Cam

Though it’s more of a design than a camo pattern, Topo Cam still made the top 5 on our list.

The origins of Topo are hard to track down, but Topo Camo appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Perhaps it has become popular in the firearms industry since topographic maps are used by the military to plan for both battle and defense.

These maps use contour lines to represent elevations and landforms, and the pattern makes for a cool design.

Topo Cam has been around for a few years now but is still one of the most popular camo patterns in 2023.

#4 - Partizan

With how popular AKs have become in recent years, it’s no wonder Partizan Camo, used by Russian special operations troops, has also seen a rise in popularity.

Partizan was first introduced in 2004, and its design was influenced by the German World War II oakleaf pattern.

Partizan comes in two patterns, summer and autumn. Summer includes dark brown, dark yellow, yellow on a green background while autumn uses black, dark yellow, dark brown, yellow and green on a sandy background.

Though any gun could be Cerakoted in Partizan, it’s seems to be the perfect fit for an AK.

#3 - Splinter Cam

First introduced in Germany during the Interwar Period, “splittermuster” (meaning splinter pattern) was originally overlaid with a rain pattern.

After World War II, Germany continued to use splinter cam in the Army and Iron Curtain Border Guards.

Several countries followed suit and created their own splinter camo patterns in various colors both with and without the rain pattern.

Splinter Cam is another camo pattern that appears in Modern Warfare and remains popular years later.

#2 - MultiCam

MultiCam is a trademarked name by Crye Precision. The camouflage pattern was created in 2002 for the U.S. military to use in various environments, seasons, and times of day. However, instead of choosing MultiCam, the Army chose instead to adopt UCP (Universal Camouflage Pattern).

Later, in 2010, the Army commissioned MultiCam for operations in Afghanistan.

The pattern is still in use today by special ops, SWAT teams, and other federal agencies in the United States.

MultiCam comes in four color combinations:

  1. Arid (pictured)

  2. Tropic

  3. Alpine

  4. Black

Though there are better camos that out perform MultiCam in specific scenarios, MutliCam is an impressive camouflage design because of its versality and 80% effectiveness in most terrains.

#1 - M81

M81, also known as Woodland camouflage, was used by the U.S. military from the 1980s to the 2000s. Later replaced by UCP, M81 has claimed the spot as the best camo pattern for Cerakote in 2023.

The M81 pattern is derived from ERDL, a smaller, nearly identical pattern.

The high contrast, disruptive pattern consists of four colors (green, brown, sand, and black).

The classic looks has risen in popularity this year. It is by far the most popular Cerakote pattern for 2023.
